Fireclay Brick and Semi-silica Brick for Coke Oven

Fireclay bricks (MAGSCIE BRAND: JNZ) refer to clay based products made of aluminum silicate materials with an Al2O3 content of 30%~40%. It has advantages such as fire prevention, insulation, sound insulation, and moisture absorption. Fireclay bricks belong to weakly acidic refractory products. It can resist the erosion of acidic slag and acidic gases. But the resistance to alkaline substances is slightly poor. Fireclay bricks have good thermal performance and can withstand rapid cooling and heating.

The refractoriness under load of fireclay brick is low. It will shrink at high temperatures. The thermal conductivity is 15%~20% lower than that of silica bricks. The mechanical strength is also worse than that of silicon bricks. Therefore, clay bricks can only be used in secondary parts of coke ovens. For example, the sealing wall of the regenerative chamber, the lining bricks of the small flue, the grid bricks of the regenerative chamber, the lining bricks of the furnace door, the lining bricks of the furnace top and the rising pipe, etc.

Semi-silica brick (MAGSCIE BRAND: BGZ) are made by mixing silica and clay materials. Its Al2O3 content ranges from 15% to 30%, while SiO2 content exceeds 65%. It’s a semi acidic refractory material. BGZ have good resistance to acidic slag. At the same time, it has high high-temperature structural strength and relatively stable volume. It can be used to build the middle and lower parts of the coke oven regenerative chamber.
