Corundum Brick

MAGSCIE BRAND: HPA

High-purity Corundum  brick (Corundum Mullite brick) refer to high alumina refractory products composed of the main crystalline phases of corundum and mullite. Corundum is a kind of mineral with high hardness and high fire resistance, mainly composed of Al2O3. Mullite is a silicate mineral. After the fusion of these two substances, a high-strength and high refractory material is formed.

HPA contain tabular alumina as the base grain and may include various fine materials such as calcined alumina, clay and fine silica. As these bricks generally have low impurity levels, alumina and silica typically make up 99% of the chemical composition. Usually, the only mineral phases present are corundum and mullite. Properties such as high hot strength, creep and slag resistance benefit from this purity level.

High Purity Corundum Brick is mainly made by firing alumina at medium to high temperatures. It has the advantages of high purity, high strength, chemical stability and corrosion resistance.

Applications of Corundum brick

HPA  is mainly used in harsh industrial environments such as high temperature, high pressure, high-speed, and corrosion. Therefore, it is widely used as a lining for petrochemical and instrument equipment, such as ammonia gasifiers, ethylene gasifiers, and carbon black reactors. High temperature, high pressure, chemical corrosion, and mechanical wear can be encountered in these devices.
