Pocket block

Pocket block is a square refractory product built into the bottom of the ladle or tundish, designed to hold and secure the nozzle brick. It can be manufactured from clay-based, high-alumina, or unfired high-alumina materials, and features strong resistance to erosion and thermal shock.

Its core functions are to fix the nozzle position, allow convenient installation and removal of the nozzle, support the lower end of the stopper rod, and control or cut off the molten steel flow. Pocket blocks are often used together with zirconia-based metering nozzles, while also protecting the upper nozzle and porous plug.

These blocks are precisely dimensioned and provide excellent corrosion resistance and thermo-mechanical stability under compressive stress. They are durable in service, resistant to deformation and cracking, easy to install, and effectively meet the practical needs of customers.
