Insulating Firebrick (IFB) INS-JM Series, also known as Mullite insulation brick, are made from a variety of oxides, most commonly fireclay or mullite. The desirable features of these brick are their light weight and low thermal conductivity, which usually results from a high degree of porosity.
· Lightweight, the density is generally between 0.6~1.2/cm3.
· Low thermal conductivity, making it has good insulation effect;
· Low creep rate at high temperature and low coefficient of thermal expansion;
· Good thermal shock resistance;
· High high-temperature compressive strength ensures the strength and stability of the masonry;
· Resistance to chemical erosion, and superior resistance to reductive atmosphere;
· Can directly contact with flames.
