Anode furnace is a specialized fire-furnace used to refine blister copper into anode copper. The furnace mainly consists of furnace body, supporting frame, driving device, refractory materials.
Blister copper is 98% pure copper created during the smelting process when sulfur is removed. The furnace is used to further refine the blister copper by removing any remaining oxygen in the copper. The copper content of the product from the anode furnace is about 99%.
Refining operations include feeding, oxidation, reduction, and casting. There is a furnace mouth on the cylindrical furnace body for loading and discharging copper. There are a small number of air vents on the side of the furnace body, which allow high-pressure air to be introduced during the oxidation period and reducing agent to be introduced during the reduction period. Place the air vent above the melt surface when not in operation. During the redox operation, tilt the furnace to embed the tuyere into the melt.
Firstly, the furnace temperature of the anode furnace is higher than 1350 ℃. Unlike fixed furnaces, there is no fixed molten pool (slag line). The erosion of slag and the erosion of molten metal almost involve more than two-thirds of the inner surface of the furnace.
Secondly, due to the frequent rotation of the furnace, the masonry and steel shell must be in close contact. Increase the static friction between the masonry and the steel shell to overcome rotational torque and maintain the stability of the masonry. Therefore, there is no lightweight insulation layer.
Thirdly, in order to reduce the load on the masonry, the thickness of the masonry layer should be minimized as much as possible under the allowable surface temperature (300 ℃) of the steel shell .
