Introduction

Magnesia brick (MZ) is an alkaline refractory material. The raw material of MZ is mainly magnesite. Its basic component is MgCO3. After high-temperature calcination and crushing to a certain particle size, it becomes sintered magnesia.

The fire resistance of magnesia bricks can reach over 2000 ℃, and their load softening temperature varies greatly depending on the melting point of the cementitious phase and the amount of liquid phase produced at high temperatures. The starting temperature of load softening for general magnesia bricks is between 1520 and 1600 ℃, while for high purity magnesium bricks, it can reach 1800 ℃. The starting temperature of load softening of magnesia bricks is not significantly different from the collapse temperature.

Properties

· Strong resistance to alkaline slag.

· Excellent resistance to strong alkaline slag erosion, alkaline steam erosion, oxidation reduction erosion, and good thermal conductivity.

· High thermal conductivity, which is second only to carbon bricks and silicon carbide bricks in refractory products.

Applications

Magnesia bricks are widely used as working linings, safety linings, and permanent layers in traditional steel and non-ferrous metal smelting furnaces, such as OHF Furnaces, EAF Furnaces, Converters, Mixers, Flash Smelting Furnaces, Copper Converters, Reverberatory Furnaces etc.

NOTICE

· The thermal shock resistance of magnesia bricks is poor, and improving the purity of magnesia bricks can appropriately improve the thermal shock resistance. After pitch-impregnated, resistance of slag attack and thermal shock stability will be highly enhanced and improved.

· Magnesia bricks have a poor ability to resist acid slag and cannot be directly contacted with silica bricks during use. Generally, neutral bricks are used to separate them.
