Copper Converter Tuyere slag line zone: an area with harsh working conditions. The area has been suffering from: Penetration erosion of crude copper melt. | Chemical reaction erosion of copper smelting slag (mainly SiO2-FeO-CaO). | Erosion caused by the diffusion of SO2 gas in matte and damage caused by oxidation-reduction reactions during oxygen blowing refining process. | Hydration at high temperatures. | The overheating reaction during the refining process leads to damage, as well as the drastic changes in temperature during blowing and the intense erosion of the superheated liquid. | Mechanical fatigue caused by periodic operations. Only high Chrome DMK and RMK products can withstand such severe damage.
Copper Converter Working lining: The converter blowing is operated in an intermittent manner. So this area also needs to withstand chemical erosion, infiltration, temperature changes, and other damages caused by the diffusion of copper slag, matte, and SO2 gas. However, the severity of erosion and damage to the work lining is mitigated. Therefore medium grade Chrome DMK, RMK and KPA products are recommended.
