Requirements of glass furnace for electric fused refractory bricks

In order to reach the designed service life of the glass furnace or achieve the glass solution free from pollution, it is necessary to have a comprehensive understanding of the appearance quality and internal quality of the electric fused refractory bricks, understand the performance of the electric fused refractory bricks, and the weak points of the electric fused refractory bricks: which parts can have defects, and which parts must be perfect. Ⅰ. Appearance quality of electric fused refractory bricks

corner bricks, kiln cut bricks, bubbling bricks and fluid hole bricks in the pool wall shall be strictly required for the assembly gap with adjacent bricks. The gap will speed up the scouring of the glass solution on the brick. The assembly gap shall be no more than 0.5mm. The bottom of the brick shall not have shrinkage holes, and the surface pores larger than ¢ 2mm shall not be more than 12 per cubic meter. The color of the brick shall be white and yellow, and the bubbling and fluid hole bricks shall not have cracks, No defects are allowed within 300mm of the top of the pool wall. These requirements are very critical. Failure to do so will affect the service life of brick materials.

Ⅱ. Internal quality

1. Judge the impurities in the fused bricks from the color of the bricks, or determine whether the bricks with large carbon content turn blue. Strictly eliminate the use of such bricks, which will double the service life of the kiln.

2. If the surface of the brick is bluish, there is a great possibility that there is iron block in it. The iron block comes from the falling off of the iron braze during leveling or exhaust during production, and other factors. The use of such imaginary bricks should also be eliminated.

3. The proportion of glass phase must be strictly controlled. If the glass phase exceeds the standard, the large amount of glass phase precipitation at high temperature will reduce the service life of the furnace and pollute the glass melt.

Ⅲ. The above points are briefly explained, and there are many factors that need attention. In fact, some problems will be encountered during the use of glass furnaces. These problems will have a great impact on the quality of bricks. Therefore, it is necessary to understand the knowledge of electric fused bricks when purchasing electric fused bricks.
