The quality of refractory brick is one of the key conditions to determine whether the kiln can operate safely all year round. Therefore, attention should be paid to the handling, storage and acceptance of refractory bricks.

The handling and storage of refractory brick

When transporting refractory bricks, special attention shall be paid to avoid collision. In order to avoid cracks and falling corners, which will affect the quality of refractory bricks. Therefore, the refractory bricks must be wrapped with ropes and rice during handling. Handle with care during the handling process.

In order to facilitate access and avoid misuse, the refractory bricks shall be stacked separately according to the variety, shape and model of the refractory bricks. Each kind of refractory brick should be stored in a certain amount according to the actual demand. The storage place shall be dry to avoid problems during masonry due to water absorption of refractory bricks.

The acceptance 

After the refractory bricks enter the factory, acceptance and selection shall be carried out. Remove unqualified bricks, such as those with cracks and corners. During acceptance, it is important to check whether the chemical composition, model and shape of refractory bricks meet the requirements. It would be better if we could do experiments on fire resistance, resistance to rapid cooling and heating, and compressive strength. The error of the proportion of refractory bricks is required to be no more than 3mm. If the error is too large, it will bring some difficulties to brickwork, and the quality of brickwork is also difficult to guarantee.

Refractory brick can supplement the pores between pig iron particles, generate gel with liquefaction products, and generate gel with alkaline material magnesium oxide lining. In the cast iron base concrete, mortar and refractory castables, add an appropriate amount of refractory bricks. The construction match ratio of refractory bricks and castables shall be made by the laboratory, and the construction shall be carried out in strict accordance with the match ratio.

During mixing, refractory bricks shall be added to the mixing head immediately after the aggregate is placed. In the composition process of refractory bricks, due to the effect of surface tension in the process of phase transformation, amorphous spherical particles of amorphous phase are formed, and the surface is quite clean, and some are aggregates of multiple spherical particles stuck together. It is a volcanic ash object with larger specific surface area and higher activity. The fine spherical body of materials mixed with refractory bricks can play a role in lubrication.
